Traditional Timber Framed Sugarhouse
It has been a while since we cut a traditional mortise and tenon timber frame and this winter we jumped at the opportunity to design, cut, and raise a barn for Mike O'Malley, maple syrup maker in Bolton VT. The 24' x 42' Sugarhouse will house his evaporator and other equipment. Raised by hand just before Christmas the project was fun from start to finish and we look forward to the next frame. As we have in the past, we partnered with Skip Dewhirst to design the frame joinery and to bring his expertise to the project.
We look forward to designing and building Mike a rent-able backcountry tree house overlooking his sugaring operation this spring, the first step in coupling agri-tourism with the current use of his land.
