These beautiful and elegant cabinets were part of a larger deep energy overhaul of Sunnybrook Farm in Calais VT. We sourced the butternut lumber for the doors, drawers and faces of the cabinets from a tree that grew around the corner and had been drying in a nearby barn for over 20 years. The rest of the cabinets were made without any plywood- the internal parts were all milled and assembled from salvaged boards from the house renovation!
Stauffer Woodworking led the kitchen layout, design and fabrication, working with the clients and architect to suit their workspace to their needs. The overall renovation was designed and led by Architect Ben Graham and focused on natural materials and extreme energy efficiency. Calais VT 2011.
